I was elated when Cereal commissioned me to write an essay on one of my favorite places in the world – Big Sur, California. I tried to remember my first time there and capture a lot of the sensory information I received during the trip. It’s such a rich and very powerful natural environment and, as a result, always feels a little dreamlike to me. That ended up being the theme that ran throughout the essay.
